Thanks from a Small Town
Thanks To Bashaw!
We have spent quite a few days and nights wondering how to say thank you. It’s just that there is so much to be thankful for.
We are truly grateful to have been a part of an amazing team of community members who dedicated themselves to supporting the youth in our community with their commitment to winning and then creating Bashaw’s Small Town Saturday Night. As with any community event, there were times it was exciting and other times where it was challenging. Either way, the committee worked together and supported each other in the way a successful team does.
A volunteer is a person who possesses the spirit of service. We were sincerely overwhelmed by the immediate response of support by all of our volunteers. There was an official list of over 140 volunteers but that list did not include the entire Junior and Senior High students of the Bashaw School who managed in just over an hour to set up three facilities but also achieved the same feat to take it all down again. The plea for help to clean up was answered immediately and we acknowledge that their help, based on a very last minute request, was invaluable.
Finally, we cannot find enough words to express how much this gift meant to our community. Panhandle Productions, Travel Alberta and all of the other major sponsors of Small Town Saturday Night accomplished what others dedicate years to achieve. Their vision allowed rural communities across the province to dream big and build their community in the process. The Bashaw community is very fortunate.
Thank you all.
